About this role

The New York office of Akerman LLP seeks a Real Estate Associate with 2 to 4 years of experience working in a top New York real estate practice, handling sophisticated commercial real estate transactions, with an emphasis on lender side real estate finance (commercial mortgage, construction and mezzanine loans), and joint ventures. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience drafting and negotiating loan documents and being part of the closing teams. Excellent writing, analytical and organizational skills are required, as well as strong attention to detail. Must possess a Juris Doctor degree from an ABA accredited law school, be a member of the New York State Bar, and have prior Am Law 100 law firm experience. Annual base salary: $195,000 - $240,000 (Akerman LLP is not a lock-step firm. The exact amount of salary for this position is dependent on a variety of factors). In addition to base salary, Akerman offers an annual discretionary bonus, paid time off, professional and client development allowance, medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, 401k Profit Sharing Plan (employee-only contribution plan), and a pre-tax transportation benefit.
