About the Role:
Atlassian is looking for a Data Scientist to join our product analytics team. You will use data and machine learning to help teams across Atlassian make better product decisions for Jira, Confluence, and our cloud platform.
Responsibilities:
- Develop ML models to improve product recommendations, search, and user experience
- Design and analyze A/B experiments to measure feature impact
- Build data pipelines and analytics dashboards
- Perform deep-dive analyses to understand user behavior and product performance
- Collaborate with product managers and engineers to identify data-driven opportunities
- Present findings and insights to leadership
- Contribute to data science best practices and knowledge sharing
Requirements:
- 3+ years of data science experience in a product company
- Strong Python skills (pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow)
- Advanced SQL and data manipulation skills
- Experience with A/B testing and causal inference
- Familiarity with data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, or similar)
- Strong statistics and experimental design knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
- MSc in a quantitative field preferred
