About the Role:
CBA is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our digital banking engineering team. You will build and maintain the technology that powers Australia's leading banking app, used by millions of customers daily.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot
- Build responsive web interfaces using React
- Deploy and manage applications on AWS cloud infrastructure
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other engineers
- Lead technical design discussions and architecture reviews
- Write comprehensive tests and participate in code reviews
- Mentor junior developers and contribute to team culture
- Participate in on-call rotation and incident response
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
- Experience with React and modern frontend technologies
- Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native development
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
