Come join our Personal Wealth Data Strategy & Management team! Vanguard is building trusted data products that power analytics, AI capabilities, and business decision-making across the enterprise. We are looking for curious, analytical students who want hands-on experience working with data while partnering with product, engineering, and business teams. You will gain exposure to how data products are validated, governed, and delivered within a large-scale organization.
This exciting six-month co-op opportunity begins in January for students from participating schools.
You’ll gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, working alongside talented engineers and contributing to impactful projects from day one.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to start in January and end in June/July. No exceptions.
- Must be able to work hybrid model (Monday and Friday option to work from home, Tuesday - Thursday onsite)
- Pursuing a degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience
- 0–3 years of developer experience
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good analysis and problem-solving skills
In this role, you will
- Support data discovery and profiling activities to better understand business processes and datasets.
- Assist in documenting business rules, data definitions, requirements, and success criteria.
- Analyze data and help identify quality issues, trends, patterns, and opportunities for improvement.
- Support data validation and testing efforts to ensure data products are accurate and reliable.
- Partner with Data Product Managers, Engineers, and Analysts to support delivery initiatives.
- Contribute to reporting, analysis, documentation, and stakeholder presentations.
You will have an opportunity to gain the following:

- Understanding of business requirements gathering and data validation techniques.
- Hands-on experience with analytical tools and data exploration techniques.
- Exposure to cloud-based data and analytics platforms.
- Experience working in Agile environments with cross-functional teams.
Nice to have skills:
- Familiarity with SQL and data analysis concepts.
- Exposure to Excel, Tableau, Power BI, Python, or similar analytical tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to think critically when working with data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Curiosity and desire to learn new technologies and business concepts.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics, or a related field.
- Demonstrated interest through coursework, projects, internships, or extracurricular activities involving data, analytics, or technology.
