General Department Description
Global Transaction Banking Division Americas provides transaction banking solutions across payments and collections, cash and liquidity management, trade finance, supply chain finance, commercial card, receivables finance, and related treasury capabilities. The division serves corporate clients across the Americas and works closely with Coverage, Product, Technology, Operations, Risk, and Mizuho’s global network.
Summary
The Director serves as the Receivables and Check Product Specialist for Global Transaction Banking Division Americas, responsible for the strategy, enhancement, commercialization, and lifecycle management of receivables, fraud prevention, and cash management solutions. The role manages the product roadmap, drives product enhancements and service improvements, and partners across Product, Sales, Operations, Technology, Implementation, Risk, Compliance, and Legal to deliver solutions that enhance client experience, strengthen controls, support vendor relationships, and advance payment modernization initiatives.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Check and Receivables Product Management: Manage Check Positive Pay, image services, Remote Deposit Capture, Lockbox, Controlled Disbursement, Print & Mail, and related issuance, deposit, fraud-prevention, and receivables capabilities.
- Roadmap and Delivery: Maintain product plans and coordinate requirements, testing, implementation, production support, client onboarding, issue resolution, and lifecycle activity with relevant partners.
- Client and Stakeholder Advisory: Advise clients and internal partners on check and receivables capabilities, treasury workflows, operating processes, industry practice, and solution alternatives.
- Risk and Controls: Support fraud-risk and operational-control assessments, regulatory and industry change reviews, product agreements, audits, remediation, and adherence to established processing controls.
- Operational Excellence: Analyze transaction flows and service issues, identify automation and process improvements, and maintain clear procedures, issue logs, impact assessments, and management reporting.
- Strategic Contribution: Lead assigned product enhancements and strategic transformation initiatives, share expertise through training, and escalate dependencies that may affect client, control, or delivery outcomes.
- Vendor Relationship Management: Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers, overseeing product performance, service delivery, issue resolution, contractual obligations, and enhancement initiatives to support business objectives and client needs.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant education required.
- Professional Experience: Eight or more years of relevant experience in cash management, payments, treasury services, transaction banking, product management, or related financial services, including substantial experience with check and receivables products.
- Product Knowledge: Strong knowledge of receivables, treasury, and transaction banking solutions, including Check Positive Pay, Check Image Services, Remote Deposit Capture, Lockbox, Controlled Disbursement, Print & Mail Services, fraud prevention controls, and related operating processes. Understanding of ACH and Wire payment rails, payment lifecycles, treasury operations, and industry rules is preferred. Experience with RTP, FedNow, and real-time payment integration initiatives is a strong plus.
- Delivery and Controls: Demonstrated experience with product roadmaps, business requirements, testing, implementation, production support, documentation, risk assessments, audits, remediation, and service improvement.
- Skills: Strong analytical, organizational, communication, stakeholder-management, problem-solving, and execution skills.
- Language: English required. Japanese is preferred
- Travel: Ability to travel as required based on client, business, and stakeholder needs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a global bank and multicultural environment; CTP, AAP, or a similar treasury or payments certification; and experience modernizing check, fraud-prevention, or receivables capabilities.
Work Location
In-office presence is an essential function of this role, and this role requires work from the office five days per week. Remote work may be used on an as-needed and ad hoc basis in accordance with applicable Banking policies.
The expected base salary ranges from $140,000 - $190,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, including Medical, Dental and 401K plans, successful candidates are also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
