Demolition Operator Elder Demolition — Portland, OR Salary: $55,000 - $75,000 per year About Us: Elder Demolition based in Portland, Oregon is a fully licensed and insured commercial and industrial demolition contractor. We have certifications for hazardous waste handling as well as broad experience with LEED-certified green demolitions, demolition asset recovery and scrap metal demolition. In addition we provide scrap metal and concrete recycling services and clean up of hazardous materials on site. Customers can even offset the cost our demolition services by selling us their scrap metal. We work with general contractors and property owners to provide industrial and commercial demoli Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Demolition Operator to operate heavy equipment for commercial and industrial demolition projects. You will safely dismantle structures while following environmental regulations and company safety protocols. Responsibilities: - Operate excavators, skid steers, and loaders for demolition and site cleanup - Perform selective and complete building demolition per project specifications - Sort and separate materials for recycling, salvage, and disposal - Maintain daily equipment inspections and service logs - Follow all OSHA, EPA, and DEQ safety and environmental regulations - Coordinate with project managers and supervisors on daily work plans - Assist with hazardous material identification and abatement preparation - Ensure proper dust, noise, and erosion control measures are in place - Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site Qualifications: - 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in demolition or construction - Proficiency with excavators (20-ton class or larger), skid steers, and wheel loaders - Strong knowledge of demolition safety practices and techniques - OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification required - Hazmat awareness training preferred - Valid driver's license with CDL Class A or B preferred - Ability to work in physically demanding and dusty environments - Reliable and safety-conscious work habits Benefits: - Competitive pay with overtime - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) retirement plan - Paid holidays and vacation - Company-provided PPE and training - Career advancement opportunities Elder Demolition is an equal opportunity employer.
