About Us:
Elder Demolition based in Portland, Oregon is a fully licensed and insured commercial and industrial demolition contractor. We have certifications for hazardous waste handling as well as broad experience with LEED-certified green demolitions, demolition asset recovery and scrap metal demolition.

In addition we provide scrap metal and concrete recycling services and clean up of hazardous materials on site. Customers can even offset the cost our demolition services by selling us their scrap metal.

Position Overview:
We are seeking Environmental Abatement Workers to safely remove hazardous materials including asbestos, lead paint, and other regulated substances from commercial and industrial buildings.

Responsibilities:
- Remove asbestos-containing materials (ACM) following OSHA, EPA, and DEQ regulations
- Set up and maintain containment areas with negative air pressure systems
- Perform lead paint abatement using approved methods
- Wear and properly maintain respiratory protection and full PPE
- Conduct personal and area air monitoring during abatement activities
- Properly bag, label, and transport hazardous waste for licensed disposal
- Decontaminate work areas and perform final clearance preparations
- Maintain daily work logs and compliance documentation
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements at all times

Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in environmental abatement or demolition
- Oregon DEQ asbestos worker certification (or willingness to obtain — training provided)
- EPA RRP Lead Renovator certification preferred
- Ability to wear full-face respirator and Tyvek suits for extended periods
- Physically fit and able to work in hot, confined, and elevated environments
- Valid driver's license
- Reliable and committed to safety
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER certification is a plus
