About this role
Cache Valley Electric is seeking an experienced Electrical Superintendent to lead and oversee field operations on electrical construction projects.
The Electrical Superintendent is responsible for the overall execution of work in the field, including safety, manpower, productivity, scheduling, quality, materials, equipment, and coordination. This position works closely with Project Managers, General Foremen, Foremen, customers, subcontractors, vendors, and other project stakeholders to ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and according to contract requirements.
The ideal candidate is a strong field leader with extensive electrical construction experience who can manage multiple crews, develop field leadership, anticipate project needs, and hold teams accountable to schedule, quality, and productivity expectations.
What You'll Do
- Provide overall field leadership and direction for electrical construction projects
- Take ownership of day-to-day field execution and project performance
- Lead and coordinate General Foremen, Foremen, Journeymen, Apprentices, and other field personnel
- Work closely with the Project Manager to establish and execute project plans
- Develop and maintain short-term and long-term field schedules
- Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment, tools, and other resources required to maintain production
- Monitor project progress and production against established schedules and milestones
- Identify schedule risks, delays, manpower constraints, material shortages, and other potential impacts to the project
- Develop recovery plans and adjust field operations when projects fall behind schedule
- Coordinate multiple crews and work activities to maximize productivity
- Review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project requirements
- Ensure field installation follows approved plans, specifications, applicable codes, and company standards
- Coordinate with other trades, subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and customer representatives
- Participate in project planning, mobilization, startup, and closeout
- Conduct regular jobsite inspections to monitor progress, quality, safety, and productivity
- Ensure crews have the information and resources necessary to perform their work correctly
- Track and manage field manpower and labor productivity
- Work with Project Managers to identify labor, material, equipment, and productivity concerns
- Assist with forecasting manpower and project resource requirements
- Identify changes in scope and field conditions and communicate them to the Project Manager
- Assist with change order documentation and field verification
- Review daily reports, timecards, production reports, and other field documentation
- Maintain accurate records of field activities and project progress
- Participate in project meetings and provide accurate field updates to project leadership
- Build strong working relationships with customers and project partners
- Ensure project turnover and closeout requirements are completed properly
- Significant experience in electrical construction
- Previous experience as an Electrical Superintendent, General Foreman, or senior electrical field leader
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, sequencing, and installation
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, one-lines, and project documents
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple crews and field leaders
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling and project execution
- Ability to understand project scope, identify risks, and develop practical solutions
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, customers, subcontractors, and field personnel
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety and quality requirements
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with large-scale electrical, industrial, commercial, Data Center Projects
- Experience leading complex projects with multiple crews and subcontractors
- Electrical Journeyman or Master Electrician license where applicable
- OSHA 30 or other relevant safety certifications
- Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or other scheduling platforms
- Experience with construction management/project management software
- Experience with labor forecasting and productivity tracking
- Experience working with large EPC contractors, utilities, or electrical contractors
- Previous experience managing General Foremen and multiple Foremen
