Competitive Compensation:
• Pay range for this PRN position, $40 to $50/hr. for experienced ATC's.
• This position includes a $2/hr. 6pm shift differential.

Job Description:
The Certified Athletic Trainer is responsible for providing coverage for local High School home events and for the prevention of athletic injuries; the maintenance of health and well-being; and the recuperation and rehabilitation following illness, injury, or surgery of all athletes, as well as all the responsibilities mentioned under the Illinois Athletic Trainers Practice Act.
Responsibilities:
• Provides medical coverage at outside games, practices, and/or tournaments as needed.
• Communicate with athletes, parents, athletic directors, coaches, and physicians regarding athletes' playing status and ability to return to competition.
• Communicates/coordinates needs with the appropriate school Athletic Directors regarding school sports coverage/programs.
• Demonstrates creativity, skill, and efficiency in evaluating and providing patient treatment programs within departmental guidelines and state practice act guidelines.
• Provides assessments of patients including review of pertinent medical history information, performance of specific assessments; determination of recommendations and accurately communicate and present this information to the physician.
• Provides clear and concise written information when giving patient education to the patient and/or their families.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
• Demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
• Knowledge of the principles of growth and development as well as the physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs of the patient population served.
• Clear and effective communication skills when communicating with physical therapists and physicians regarding patients' conditions.
• Professional level of knowledge of anatomy and physiology, techniques, and modalities.
• Holds current CPR/AED certification or willing to obtain certification.
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional and respectful manner.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in an Athletic Training Program or Entry Level Masters.
• BOC certification and IL AT license or eligible
• Approximately one to two years' experience of progressively responsible related experience, necessary to gain a thorough knowledge of athletic training techniques.
