We have an immediate opening in our Austin office for a Commercial Litigation Senior Associate or Senior Counsel . Senior Associate candidates should have a minimum of six years of relevant experience. Senior Counsel candidates should have a minimum of eight years of relevant experience.
The ideal candidate will have experience with all phases of complex commercial litigation including, but not limited to, experience conducting factual investigations and discovery, preparing pleadings, taking depositions, arguing motions, participating in mediation, and communicating with clients. Experience in both state and federal court is preferred, and experience in administrative matters and arbitrations is beneficial. Second-chair experience at trial or arbitration is preferred but not required. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in the Healthcare, Life Sciences & Education Strategic Business Unit, and healthcare litigation experience is preferred.
The candidate must have an excellent academic record, superb writing skills, strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work well with a team, superior judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action. Judicial clerkship experience with a federal court is preferred but not required. Candidates must have a Texas bar license or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible.
