Paralegal, Litigation & Claims - based onsite in St. Petersburg, FL
We are seeking a detail-oriented Paralegal to support a team of attorneys focused on commercial claims/litigation/arbitration and labor & employment litigation, with a strong emphasis on claims management. This role plays a critical part in matter managing from intake through resolution, providing research, documentation, and organizational support across a high-volume, fast-paced legal environment.
What can you expect to do?
Support multiple attorneys with litigation and claims matters, primarily in commercial and labor & employment litigation.
Manage claims from start to finish, including intake, investigation, documentation, and resolution support.
Draft and prepare legal documents such as demand letters, responses, and settlement agreements (first-pass drafts).
Conduct legal and factual research to support case strategy, including identifying relevant statutes, case law, and business-specific information.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external counsel to gather information and ensure alignment on case progress.
Track and manage deadlines for litigation and arbitration matters, including docketed cases.
Maintain organized case files, documentation, and reporting to support risk mitigation and informed decision-making.
Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and communicate relevant updates to legal and business teams.
Support law department operations, including maintaining legal resources and reference materials.
What is the experience needed to be successful in this role?
Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification preferred
5+ years of paralegal experience, preferably in litigation, claims, or Labor & Employment in a commercial or firm environment
Experience supporting multiple attorneys or managing a high-volume caseload
What are the best skills and experience?
Experience using legal technology tools, including eDiscovery platforms and/or AI-based tools, to streamline research, document review, and case management
Strong understanding of litigation processes, claims handling, and legal documentation
Proficiency in legal research and ability to interpret laws and regulations
Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate with attorneys, external counsel, and business partners
High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all work product
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
