Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Tampa, FL that is seeking a Legal Biller for an in-office role. Summary: We're looking for a detail-oriented Legal Billing Specialist to help drive an accurate, timely, and efficient billing process. In this role, you'll partner closely with attorneys, legal staff, and accounting to ensure invoices are clean, compliant, and delivered on schedule. You'll play a key role in keeping billing operations running smoothly in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. This position reports to the Billing Manager and works collaboratively with a broader billing and accounting team. What You'll Do:

Manage and prioritize the daily billing workflow to ensure deadlines are met
Juggle multiple priorities across billing cycles, attorney requests, and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Generate and distribute pre-bills; Coordinate edits and approvals with attorneys
Review and edit time entries for accuracy (rates, narratives, matter codes, billing rules)
Prepare and finalize invoices in accordance with firm standards and client requirements
Respond to billing inquiries from attorneys and staff in a timely, professional manner
Partner with billing clerks and accounting to quickly resolve discrepancies
Generate billing and time reports to support decision-making
Monitor retainer balances and ensure proper application of funds
Analyze and reconcile AR ledgers, proactively identifying billing discrepancies and driving timely resolution
Provide ad hoc support to the accounting team as needed

Requirements


1+ year of billing experience (law firm or professional services)
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Excellent analytical skills are required
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
Strong in both written and verbal communication
Experience with accounting databases and software preferred
Proficiency in MS Excel and other MS Office products
E-billing experience
Legal experience

Preferred


Law firm billing experience
Familiarity with e-billing platforms
Experience with SurePoint LMS, Orion, Centerbase, or similar systems

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
