Job Descripti on Please note: This position is on-site in our Lawrenceville GA office and not available for remote wor k. GENERAL SUMM ARY:The AVP, Associate General Counsel provides hands-on counsel to the company’s business units and assists General Counsel in managing the operations of legal department. Identifies and analyzes legal issues, presents clear recommendations, and assures legal compliance for the organization. Support the Legal Department’s objective of being a trusted advisor to the business units within the company by developing effective relationships with internal clients. May manage support staff within the Legal Departm ent. MAJOR DUTIES/RESPONSIBILI TIES:Assist General Counsel in reviewing, tracking, and managing defensive litigation matters, including management of external counsel relations hips.Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums of law as requested by the General Counsel on various legal topics relating to the company’s consumer finance operat ions.Provide legal guidance to support new product development and new delivery chan nels.Monitor, review and advise on developments in applicable state and federal laws and regulat ions.Review, draft, and negotiate various legal agreem ents.Manages risk relative to posi tion.Recognize and respond appropriately to levels of urg ency.Embrace the Company’s core values and LEND leadership m odel.Build relationships with internal home office departments and branch net work. BASIC QUALIFICAT IONS: JD degree and admission to state bar req uired.Licensed to practice law in Georgia (or another U.S. state with the ability to practice in-house in Geo rgia).3-5 years of work exper ience.Excellent written and verbal communication s kills.Excellent computer and Microsoft Office s kills. PREFERRED/DESIRED QUALIFIC ATIONS:In-house or mid to large law firm experience d esired.Prior experience in consumer financial services is re quired.Familiarity with applicable consumer lending laws and regulations such as Truth in Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Privacy Act and Unfair, Deceptive and Abusive Acts and Practices ( UDAAP).Experience with contract review and development and negotiation of contract terms.Superior ability to analyze complex business and legal issues.Exceptional judgment, outstanding inter-personal skills, and a teamwork-oriented at titude.Strong initiative with proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet dea dlines. COMP ENSATIONThe salary range for this position is competitive based on the job duties as well as the specific Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience of the selected ca ndidate.This position is eligible for Semi Annual Incentive compensation based on individual and company performance gui delines.
