Portland Community College is accepting applications to be considered for Part-Time Faculty assignments in Small Business Development. The Department will review applications in this pool as the need arises for new part-time faculty in this area.

Please note: This is NOT an announcement of a specific open position, but a Part-Time Faculty Interest Pool, from which the department will identify applicants based on course assignment needs during the Academic Year. Your application may be considered for substitute assignments as well as full-term class assignments.

Instructor Qualifications
For Part-Time Instructors — Entrepreneurial Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a business-related field
- At least five years of small business management, previous ownership, top management experience in small business, or other business experience in a significant management capacity

Subject areas of interest include:
- Marketing
- Financing businesses
- Understanding and using financial statements and taxes

For Business Advisors:
SBDC business advisors provide direct business management and technical assistance to entrepreneurs and small business owners who are growing their businesses.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a business-related field (Master's degree preferred)
- At least ten years of small business management, previous ownership, top management experience in small business, or other business experience in a significant management capacity
- Ability to relate to a diverse group of people (primary contacts will be a broad cross-section of the general public)
- Ability to analyze and research issues and work with others toward a solution
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work with minimal supervision while maintaining excellent records
- Familiarity with business software (word processing, spreadsheets, database software, QuickBooks or other accounting software)
- A team player who enjoys working collaboratively with entrepreneurs, business owners, other resources in the SBDC Network, and partner organizations

Compensation & Benefits
Newly hired Part-Time Faculty at PCC generally start at Step 1 of the current salary schedule; hourly rates are determined based on the type of course taught (Lecture, Lab, or Lecture/Lab). As a new Part-Time Faculty employee, you may be eligible for certain benefits through PCC, such as Oregon Sick Leave and retirement savings plans.

Note Regarding Academic Credentials
Official transcripts are required within two weeks of offer date for degrees required in the stated Instructor Qualifications. These positions are included in the bargaining agreement between Portland Community College and the Portland Community College Faculty Federation.
