Job Summary:
Provides physical therapy services for patients under the direction and supervision of the Director, Assistant Director, and or Clinical Supervisor or designee.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Deliver Direct Patient Care Consistent with the provisions of the Physical Therapy Practice Act, licensing bodies, and Kaiser Permanente HealthPlan.
- Provides accurate and timely documentation of services provided per State and Federal requirements and relevant medical group and health plan policies and guidelines.
- Participates in multidisciplinary clinics, patient care rounds, and case management conferences as requested by management.
- Refers patient to appropriate medical providers when care is outside of scope of practice.
- May instruct patient education classes and/ or groups as requested by management.
- May provide department in-service as requested by management e.g., journal club presentation, regular in-service presentation.
- May assists in orientation and training of employees as needed.
- May serve as a clinical instructor as requested by management.
- May provide consultation to staff.
- May act as a mentor for staff.
- May assist in orientation and training of employees as needed.
- May participate in performance improvement projects or other committees as requested by management.
- May be involved in the clinical competency of PT Assistants and PT Aides.
- May monitor the work of contract therapists and the treatment of patients in Kaiser and non-Kaiser facilities.
- Performs other duties as required within scope of practice.
