SUMMARY:
The division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology in the department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School seeks a dynamic Generalist to join our academic medical team as Instructor/Assistant Professor. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the clinical, educational, and research missions of the division while providing high-quality, patient-centered care. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with faculty, fellows, residents, and students while participating in clinical care, teaching, and scholarly activities. Clinical Care
•
Provide comprehensive, evidence-based obstetric and gynecologic care in inpatient and outpatient settings, including labor and delivery management, routine and high-risk prenatal care, outpatient gynecology, and office-based and operative procedures.
•
Expected to participate in call coverage (evenings and weekends) at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH).
•
Work collaboratively with academic, administrative, and clinical colleagues to support high-quality patient care.
•
Assist in establishing and developing clinical protocols for obstetric services, including those involving third?party contractors.
•
Complete all required clinical documentation, reports, claims, and correspondence in a timely and accurate manner.
•
Maintain timely contracting and credentialing with public and private payors.
•
Devote the necessary time, attention, and professional effort to deliver care consistent with accepted community standards of practice.
Teaching & Education
•
Supervise and teach OB/GYN residents and medical students on labor and delivery, in the operating room, and in outpatient clinics.
•
Provide lectures, participate in Grand Rounds, mentor trainees, and contribute to the educational mission of the department.
•
Provide education and training for nurses, sonographers, and other third-party contractor personnel involved in obstetric services.
Academic / Scholarly Activity
•
Participate in research, clinical studies, quality improvement initiatives, or other scholarly activities aligned with departmental and institutional goals.
•
Maintain and enhance professional competency, including board certification and state licensure, and engage in ongoing professional development.
Administrative / Departmental Service
•
Participate in departmental meetings, hospital committees, and institutional initiatives.
•
Contribute to administrative functions as needed, which may include clinic oversight or support for specialized care areas.
•
Collaborate with departmental leadership and colleagues to advance the mission of the medical school and health system.
•
Keeps abreast of all pertinent federal, state and Rutgers' regulations, laws and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
•
MD/DO degree or equivalent (ie - MBBS)
•
Board Certified (or eligible) by American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
•
Completion of Board accredited training program/s in General Obstetrics & Gynecology.
•
Eligible for medical licensure, DEA and CDS in the state of New Jersey.
