Safety Coordinator Tom Wright Construction Inc. — Portland, OR Salary: $60,000 - $82,000 per year About Us: Specializing in residential properties - condos, houses, and townhouses - in South Surrey and White Rock. Property search and information for buying and selling real estate throughout the Fraser Valley and Vancouver, BC, Canada. Position Overview: We are seeking a Safety Coordinator to develop, implement, and maintain our company safety programs. You will ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies across all job sites, conduct safety training, and foster a culture of safety throughout the organization. Responsibilities: - Develop and maintain company safety policies, procedures, and training programs - Conduct regular job site safety inspections and audits - Lead weekly toolbox talks and monthly safety training sessions - Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and accidents; prepare detailed reports with corrective actions - Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations including OR-OSHA standards - Maintain safety records, OSHA logs, and training documentation - Coordinate with project superintendents to address site-specific hazards - Manage company drug testing and background check programs - Review and update Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and site-specific safety plans - Serve as the company's liaison with regulatory agencies during inspections Qualifications: - 3+ years of experience in construction safety - OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required - Strong knowledge of federal and Oregon state safety regulations - First Aid/CPR instructor certification preferred - Excellent communication and training delivery skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management software - Valid driver's license and ability to travel to multiple job sites - Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field preferred - CHST or ASP certification is a plus Benefits: - Competitive salary - Company vehicle - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) with company match - Paid time off and holidays - Professional development and certification support Tom Wright Construction Inc. is an equal opportunity employer.
