Job Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical and surgical history related to cardiovascular health, medication review, allergies, and relevant lab results
• Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) access (antecubital or above) for contrast administration
• Administer medications, including nitroglycerin and oral beta blockers or calcium channel blockers, to achieve optimal heart rate for imaging
• Continuously monitor patient vital signs and response throughout the procedure
• Identify and respond promptly to adverse reactions, including complications from contrast media
• Educate patients on procedure expectations, preparation, potential risks, and post‐procedure care
• Collaborate closely with cardiologists, CT technologists, and interdisciplinary team members
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and medications in the electronic medical record (EMR
Position Qualifications
Minimum Required:
• ?Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• At least one year experience in an acute care or ambulatory care setting.
• Current NY State RN license.
• Documentation of current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days employment.
Preferred:
• Previous experience in an outpatient setting.
• Bachelor's degree
Work Environment
• Work is performed in an office environment that requires working in proximity to other employees and patients.
• The office is air conditioned as well as heated.
• Exposure to equipment cleaning solutions and disinfectants.
• Fast‐paced environment including frequent interruptions.
• Frequent sitting, walking, standing and bending.
• Possibility of lifting of patients.
• Mobility may include access through a multi‐level facility, including climbing stairs.
• PPE‐ Eyewear, Masks, Face shields, Shoe covers, Gloves per UHS Infection Control and CDC guidelines when appropriate.
