Painting Crew Member / Apprentice Veenhuizen Painting Specialties — Portland, OR Salary: $36,000 - $45,000 per year About Us: Veenhuizen Painting Specialties is a team of skilled and experienced, customer service oriented craftsmen, creating the finish you desire - from a coat of paint to custom and gorgeous! We are your quality painting, staining and refinishing company! Position Overview: We are looking for a dependable Painting Crew Member to join our team. No extensive experience required — we will train the right person who shows up ready to work and learn. Responsibilities: - Assist lead painters with surface preparation including sanding, scraping, and caulking - Apply masking tape and protective coverings to floors, trim, and fixtures - Apply paint using brushes and rollers under supervision - Load and unload painting supplies and equipment - Maintain clean work areas and properly dispose of materials - Learn proper painting techniques and safety procedures from experienced painters - Follow all safety protocols including ladder safety and PPE usage Qualifications: - High school diploma or GED preferred - Willingness to learn the painting trade - Reliable transportation and ability to arrive on time - Physical ability to stand, bend, climb ladders, and lift 50 lbs - Attention to detail and pride in doing quality work - Positive attitude and willingness to take direction - Valid driver's license preferred Benefits: - Competitive starting pay with regular raises based on skill development - Health insurance after 90 days - Paid holidays - On-the-job training from experienced professionals - Tools and supplies provided - Clear path to Lead Painter position Veenhuizen Painting Specialties is an equal opportunity employer.
