Journeyman Electrician Young Electric LLC — Portland, OR Salary: $65,000 - $88,000 per year About Us: Young Electric is a two generation Electrical Contractor that has provided commercial and residential electrical service in the Portland area for over 20 years. Our experience and attention to detail make us the best at installation and upgrades of critical electrical & lighting systems. Our licensed and bonded electricians are skilled in commercial & residential construction/alteration, design/build, service and known for bringing projects in on-time and on-budget. Position Overview: We are seeking a licensed Journeyman Electrician to join our team. You will install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and residential settings, ensuring all work meets NEC standards and local code requirements. Responsibilities: - Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in commercial and residential buildings - Read and interpret blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications - Install and connect electrical panels, circuit breakers, switches, outlets, and lighting fixtures - Bend and install conduit (EMT, rigid, PVC) and pull wire through conduit systems - Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing equipment (multimeters, megohmmeters, circuit tracers) - Install and configure motor controls, variable frequency drives, and control systems - Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Oregon electrical codes - Supervise and mentor apprentice electricians - Coordinate with other trades on job sites to ensure smooth project execution - Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used Qualifications: - Valid Oregon Journeyman Electrician license required - 4+ years of hands-on electrical experience in commercial and/or residential settings - Strong knowledge of NEC codes, Oregon electrical codes, and safety practices - Ability to read blueprints, single-line diagrams, and wiring schematics - Proficiency with electrical testing and diagnostic equipment - Valid driver's license with clean driving record - Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in all weather conditions - OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred Benefits: - Competitive wages with overtime opportunities - Health, dental, and vision insurance - 401(k) retirement plan with company match - Paid vacation, holidays, and sick leave - Company vehicle or vehicle allowance - Tool allowance and continuing education support - Union benefits (if applicable) Young Electric LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
