Low Voltage Technician Young Electric LLC — Portland, OR Salary: $42,000 - $58,000 per year About Us: Young Electric is a two generation Electrical Contractor that has provided commercial and residential electrical service in the Portland area for over 20 years. Our licensed and bonded electricians are skilled in commercial & residential construction/alteration, design/build, service and known for bringing projects in on-time and on-budget. Position Overview: We are hiring a Low Voltage Technician to install and terminate low voltage systems including structured cabling, security, fire alarm, and audio/video systems in commercial and residential buildings. Responsibilities: - Install and terminate Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6a structured cabling systems - Pull low voltage cable through conduit, cable trays, and J-hooks - Install and program security cameras, access control, and intrusion alarm systems - Assist with fire alarm system installation and testing - Install audio/video equipment and distributed sound systems - Terminate and test fiber optic cables - Read and interpret low voltage blueprints and riser diagrams - Maintain clean work areas and professional job site appearance - Document installations with as-built drawings and test results Qualifications: - 1-3 years of experience in low voltage installation - Knowledge of structured cabling standards (TIA/EIA) - Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams - Oregon Limited Energy Technician (LET) license preferred - BICSI certification is a plus - Valid driver's license and reliable transportation - Ability to work at heights on ladders and lifts - Strong attention to detail and organized work habits Benefits: - Competitive pay with overtime opportunities - Health and dental insurance - Paid holidays and vacation - Training and certification support - Company tools and equipment provided Young Electric LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
